SUNSHINE IN TAURANGA
CONDITIONS DURING MARCH LIGHTER RAINFALL EXPERIENCED The hours of sunshine last month, as recorded on the Tauranga aerodrome, totalled 216. The total for the corresponding period in 1947 was 236.4. The rainfall last month was 2.52 inches recorded on 14 days, the heaviest daily fall of .67 inches being experienced on March 13. The rainfall was much lower than that for March, 1947, the total then being 6.02 inches recorded on ten days. The heaviest daily fall in March, 1947 was 3.76 inches on March 23. The highest temperature for the month was 81.1 degrees on March 6, as ?gainst 79.2 degrees on March 5, 1947. The lowest temperature was 43.8 degrees on March 8 and 41.4 degrees on March 15, 1947. The lowest grass reading was 33.3 on March 8, as against 34.6 on March 14. 1947. The range was 20 degrees, and the mean temperature last month 64.5 degrees.
