The following items of interest are taken from The Bay of Plenty Times of 50 years ago:— , The'scow Margaret left on Wednesday evening with a party ol hoii-day-makers for Mayor Island who intended to spend a day or two fishing and exploring the island. The work of dismantling tne Harington St. School preliminary to removal has commenced and yesteidav evening the bell, in process ol being dismantled, tolled a fewdbmal and erratic notes, auite emblematical of the spasmodic and udirected efforts with which the ami central-school agitation has peen conducted and which has to the present serious educational catastrophe.
