UNITED NATIONS WEEK
FIELD ORGANISER VISITS TAURANGA EFFORT TO GAIN PUBLIC INTEREST, In order to interest the public of New Zealand in the work of _ the United Nations Organisation, a "United Nations Week" will be held from June 8 to June 14. Mr W. Seth Smith, field organiser for the United Nations Association, is at present making a tour of the Bay of Plenty and the East Coast in this connection. Special services will be held in the churches on Sunday, June Bth, the beginning of "United Nations Week," and special broadcast programmes will be heard during the period. Schools have been invited to take part in the observance by listening to the broadcasts arranging "United Nations Assemblies," studying the work of UNO and putting concerts on with an international flavour or fancy dress functions wherever practicable. Several national organisations have been asked to co-operate by attending public functions, and by sponsoring activities connected with the United Nations in their own spheres.
