OFFICERS ELECTED FOR NEW YEAR MR G. G. PITKETHLEY APPOINTED PRESIDENT A pleasing attendance of 50 members was present at the annual meeting of the Tauranga Bowling Club on Monday evening, when the following officers were elected: President, Mr G. G. Pitkethley; senior vice-president, Mr T. S. Doherty; junior vice-president, Mr L. E. Deacon; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. E. Peppercorn; execute committee, Messrs J. C- Baxter, A.' W. Judd, H. A. Martin, J. A. Robertson, C. Wylde-Browne and H. F. Smith; match committee, Messrs H. A. Martin and C. Wylde-Browne and the sole selector (Mr T. S. Doherty); green supervisor, Mr H. S. Hall; Iron, auditor, Mr P. J. Sutton; official coaches, Messrs D. E. Woollams and W. M. Parkhouse; delegates to Bay of Plenty centre, the president, senior vice-president and secretary.
Messrs E. D. Richards, B. Brown, L. A. Hart and Marcroft were elected as members to the club. The resignation of Mr W. J. Hartley was accepted with regret. A notice of motion to have the rules of the club revised was carried. The winter subscription fee remains the same as the previous year. It was decided to continue with the system of members being allowed Thursdays in every week to select their own teams for play. The retiring president (Mr E. C. (Perriman) presented the trophies to the winners of the club’s competitions as follows:
Champion singles, Mr H. F. Smith; junior champion singles, Mr J. C. Baxter; champion pairs, Messrs W. Bent and N, N. P. Green; and champion fours cup to Mr V. C. Potter who skipped the winning rink.
