TWENTY-TWO DOGS COMPETE
SHEEP BOG TRIALS AT RACECOURSE FAVOURABLE COMMENTS BY JUDGE At the dog trials held on one section of the Tauranga Racecourse in conjunction with the combined sports carnival in aid of the Corrigill Trust on Saturday, 22 dogs, including some of the best North Island dogs, competed. They came from as far afisld as Tuakau and Whakatane. Two of the local club members, Messrs A. Palmer of Otumoetai, and H. Burr of Te Puna, were iii the prize money. 'The judge was Mr L. Eggilton, of Waihou, who commented favourably on the standard of work, especially that of the placed dogs. His awards were as follow: . A. Palmer's "Glen" All points and. R. S. Cleaver's "Miss Winn" 47i pts. equal 1; R. Tuck's "Don" 46 pts.. 3. I '■■■ A special prize for a maiden dogwas won by H. Burr's "Wag" (361 pts.) and for a special novice competitor, C. Eggliton's "Dan" (27 pts.) f;
