The weather, the varied and attractive nature of the t tottsiom and the big attendance at the Taiiranga Racecourse P « Saturday all played a part in making the combined sports ISal ! ii)-aid.of the Oorrigill Trust one of the most successful S Kind held in Tauranga. Popular among the events were ;1 tin hare racing and the woodchopping contests, while other futures were the sheep dog trials, horse jumping events, a drill Slay by College pupils, a marathon inter-house relay and a ISelling performance by eight College girls' teams. Last, but W least, was the rough riding or buck-jumping competition Vwhich few riders succeded in mastering their mount. "■"'For the children there was a merry-go-round which was ill supported as were the other games provided on the Ennds. K was very pleasing to many that such a great cause, Skat of the Corrisfill Trust, had been so well supported. Net proceeds will amount to about £350.
