.The Ministry of Civil Aviation and other Government departments, including the Treasury, are considering steps to prevent British Overseas air services from becoming a serious liability for the next five or six years. lAn air correspondent says there is grave concern about the Canadian and other Empire air services. The matter has been brought to a head by the- troubles Avith the Tudor I and Tudor II aircraft.

The correspondent says that no ether British machines will be available before 1952 at the earliest, and until then Britain is severely handicapped compared Avith Australia, South African and American air lines.

The correspondent says that British Overseas Ainvays consider that lack of suitable aircraft may result in a loss of passenger traffic Avhich Avill be difficult to recover even with new jet aircraft iioav being built.
