CARS IN COLLISION

ROTORUA-TAURANGA

HIGHWAY

Rotorua, Dec. 29

A collision between two motor cars occurred about 20 miles, from Rotorua on the Tauranga' highway at 3 p.m. yesterday. The occupants of one car were Mr Walter Deutsch, of Auckland, the driver, who had as passengers Miss Edith Specht, who suffered a broken arm, and Miss Esme Ingley, who received lacerations to the face. ,The driver of the other vehicle was Mrs Edith McKay, of Pongaka-ya, Te Puke, who was accompanied by Miss Pauline McKay, lu-r daughter.' All tha women were taken to the Rotorua Hospital by ambulance and their condition to-night was reported to be satisfactory. One of the cars was sen-iush damaged, one wheel being torn off and the side of the bedy crushed in.
