PLANT TRANSFERRED FROM SAAR

A spokesman of Ihe French Foreign Office has confirmed that a big electrical power plant has been transferred to the Saar from another ipart of French occupied Germany. He said that 'this was the only German factory which had been shifted. Xt is learned, says the. Associated Press correspondent in Berlin, that the Americans have officially demanded from the French an explanation of reports that they have been stripping industries from sections of their zones in Germany and transferring them to the Saar. Lieutenant-General Lucius Clay, deputy-Governor of the American zone, has requested the French to put before the Allied control authority in Berlin the facts about the removal of a Bosch electrical parts •plant, which is reported to have been taken from Southern Wurttemberg into the Saar. General Clay has rejected the French contention that it is a unilateral matter.

Official French circles know nothing about an American move on these lines says Reuters Paris correspondent. A French Foreign Office spokesman stated that there was no Government decision to transfer industries from other parts of Germany to the Saar.
