ANNUAL SHOW ON FEBRUARYS Arrangements For New Grounds Election Of Officers (From our Correspondent) The Te Puke Agricultural and Pastoral Association held a meeting in the Parish hall, a large attendance of memhers being present. The following officers w-ere elected for the ensuing year: Patron, Mr F. W. Doidge, M.P.; president, Mr A. E. Spratt; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Pattie and W. J. Ross; hon solicitors, Messrs L. Manning and P. Verschaffelt; honorary auditor, Mr R. Gosling; stock supervisor, Mr L. McIndoe; honorary surgeons, Drs. L. Randell and T. MacAllum; secretary, Mr E. G. Budge; executive committee, Messrs D. S. Ross, A. C. Gill, A. H. Snodgrass, R. J. McGee, H. J. Thomas, E. Morton, K. A. Bennett, J. Pattie and the president, secretary anil Young Farmers' Club representatives.

Mr Spratt explained that the fat lamb competition was run at a loss last year, but he was sure that, with the experience gained, it would be more profitable this year.

Mr W. Griffin donated two prizes for an extra class to be added to the lamb competition, this being a farmers' judging competition. It was decided that the Te Puke show be held on Wednesday, .February 5, 1947 and the following were appointed in charge of events at the forthcoming • show: —Horse events, Mr J. Pattie, snr.; cattle entries, Mr A. H. Snodgrass; ,pig entries, Mr D. S. Ross and sheep entries, Mr A. C. GilL The Women's Division of tho Farmers Union is. to be approached in connection with the home indus-

tries section. As the old show grounds had been occupied by the new High School .it was. necessary for the association to --secure new grounds for the coming show. These, it was reported, had ' been secured and the association would erect their new buildings on the Te Puke .racecourse. Arrange- ' ments have been made to suit both parties concerned.
