MISS JENKINS HONOURED

NURSES' GATHERING TRIBUTE TO WORK PAID Members of the Tauranga Registered Nurses' Association held a function recently at the Nurses' Home in honour of Miss Jenkins, a past president of the Association, who has relinquished her position as Matron of the Tauranga Public Hospital. Spring flowers in the sitting room made an attractive setting, where members and friends of Miss Jenkins gathered' to chat and renew acquaintances. A bright interlude was the presentation of a sketch by three student nurses, "Nursing in Ten Years' Time." This was greatly enjoyed by all present. A delightful afternoon tea was served, after which the president extended a welcome to visitors, two being from the south, Misses Moore and Lusk; both of whom are well known in the sphere of nursing. She then spoke of the excellent service Miss Jenkins had rendered to the branch and wished her very good health and happiness in her retirement' and asked her on behalf of members to accept the gift of a week-end bag and shower bouquet with best wishes.

In. reply Miss Jenkins thanked members for the kind sentiments expressed and indicated her pleasure in being associated with the branch during the past six years. She concluded by thanking members for their most useful gift. Miss Moore held the attention of the gathering with a most, interesting and instructive address.
