REQUEST BY AUSTRIA
CESSION OF ITALIAN TERRITORY

Austria lias asked the Big Four for the cession of 1800 square miles of Italian territory, says the Associated Press Vienna correspondent. The Austrian Foreign Minister, Dr Carl Gruber, gave details of the Austrian claims before leaving for Paris to place his case before the Foreign Ministers’ deputies. Austria is seeking the restoration of communications in the northern part of South Tyrol. The area involved here is about 1300 square miles around Pustcral, restoring to Austiia the rail lines from Innsbruck to Linz. Austria also is •asking for an area of 500 square milps around Truvisa, in Northern Italy, through which runs the rail line .to Trieste.
