ISLANDS IN THE ADRIATIC
HANDED OVER TO YUGOSLAVIA
Decision Of Paris Conference
Informal Meetings To
Be Held
London, May 2
11l Paris the conference of Foreign Ministers has decided that the Adriatic island of Pelagosa and certain other islands shall he handed over to Yugoslavia provided that the islands are not militarised and that Italian fishing rights are safeguarded. The conference failed to agree about the proposal that an Allied committee should be set up to deal with the question of Italian war criminals. M. Molotov objected.
One correspondent says that after this failure to reach agreement it was decided to make a change in procedure. In future the Big Four will hold some informal meetings to discuss questions which have already cropped up but have not been settled. The correspondent said the idea is to get away from the more formal atmosphere of the conference. The first of these meetings was held this afternoon.
