SUPREME COMMAND'S PROBLEMS Altitude Of Netherlands Government Troops And Extremists Clash In Batavia London. Dec. 23. The Netherlands; Government published its reply yesterday to the United States declaration of last Wednesday on the Java situation. According to a radio message, the Netherlands Government said it understood the diflicnlties facing the Allied Supreme Command in SouthEast Asia in connection with Java, but they must continue to press tor these parts to be fulfilled lor humanitarian reasons. The Netherlands Government would do what it could to implement the principles of the United Nations Charter in dealing with the Indonesian problem. In Java, a suburb of Bavaria has been kept out of bounds for troops following week-end clashes with Indonesian extremists. Armed extremists attacked a Red Cross Emergency hospital. A patient and two Indonesian servants were killed. Tanks were used to restore order, but spasmodic firing broke out again early this morning.
