MacARTHUR RENTAL ipSTION OF' PARTICIPATION 11N OCCUPATION Tokio, Dec. 22. General MacArthur has . issued a atement regarding a broadcast by ie representative of the American broadcasting Company about the Russian attitude toward the occupation of Japan. “The statement has ■isolutely no basis in fact,” said General MacArthur. “For the second . ime in recent weeks it becomes tecessary for me to deny an allegation that I have threatened to ■fsign. "I am here to serve, not to hinder fr obstruct, the American Government, and it is my full promise to ste the. thing through. The question :f Russian participation in the occupation is a matter for other iecisions than my own. If the corespondent made the statement he is dleged to have broadcast from lokitf, someone must have been feeding him the funny type of mooch that is being peddled around Tokio on the black market.”
