PUBLICITY FOR GRAPEFRUIT
REMIT TO NEW ZEALAND CITRUS COUNCIL PROPOSAL OF TAURANGA GROWERS At a meeting of the Bay of Plenty Citrus Growers' Association on Monday evening, Mr B. Hartman stressed the necessity tor publicity for New Zealand grapefruit when suggesting that this be a remit to the New Zealand Citrus Council's meeting in Tauranga in June. "If w e can get the New Zealand public eating our New Zealand fruit before the overseas product arrives we will be getting somewhere," he declared. Mr J. L. Tennent suggested that the best publicity for New Zealand grapefruit would be a film of the industry. The president (Mr G. T. Burhery) said he hoped that the association would get some confidence and sympathy from the government if it were approached in such a matter. Mr Tennent was thanked for his instructive remarks, and the hope was expressed that he would lie present at the New Zealand Citrus Council meeting.
