ANZAC SERVICE AT KATIKATI

PROCESSION OF RETURNED SERVICEMEN (From Our Correspondent) Though a decided improvement over last year, the weather at Katikati again marred the Anzac parade and service. Heavy rain was failing as the procession left Henderson’s Cinem Theatre after the service and continued throughout the ceremony of laying the wreaths at the meinorial gates., The procession of returned servicemen, under the direction of the president of the Returned Services’ Association (Mr G. A. Sherson), was headed by the Katikati Brass Band and included two recently returned personnel from overseas. The service at the Cinema Theatre was presided over by the President of the R.S.A., the address being given by the Rev. A. R. Thomas and the prayers led by the Rev. J. D. Hervey. The Last Post was played by Mr A. M. Dick.
