THE ALLIED AIR OFFENSIVE Airfields And Bridges Bombed * Attacks By More Than 1100 American Planes London, Jan. 10. 'More than 1100 American heavy bombers from Britain, escorted by more than 300 fighters, to-day struck widespread blows behind the western front. They attacked four aidfields near Cologne, Bonn and Euskirchen between the Rhine and the Ardenne salient, road and rail bridges over the Rhine at Cologne, road bridges and junctions along the Belgian frontier at the mouth of the salient and the big rail yard at Karlsruhe farther south..
