VOTING SYSTEM CRITICISED

MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD EXAMINATION WANTED The present system of voting for the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board was criticised at the quarterly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Sub-Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union in Tauranga on Tuesday when it was decided that the basis of representation and the voting qualification be examined with the view to giving a vote to all meat producers. The subject was introduced in a remit from the Katikati branch, moved by Mr S. A. Wells (Katikati) who thought the present position ridiculous, and seconded by Mr J. K. Hamilton (Tauranga). The remit was carried unanimously.
