ANNUAL. SPORTS MEETING

HELD

v EASTER MONDAY FUNCTION

(From Our Own Correspondent) Favoured Avith perfect Aveather, the Te Puna Sports Club held its annual sports meeting on Mr W. Armstrong’s property on Easter Monday. There was a record attendance, 1200 adults being admitted at the gate. Children were admitted free of charge. Competitors came from as far as Te Puke and Katikati and a very enjoyable time was spent by all.

A feature was the effort made by the Maori residents, who conducted a very successful hangi, and stall. The Young Farmers’ Club, Sewing Bee and Women’s Division also conducted stalls, teas, ice creams, etc., and had a very busy day. The dance in the evening was a great success. Over £3OO Avas taken. The folloAving are the results of the various sports events:
