Italian Fascist sources in Switzerland report that Mussolini is meeting Hitler at Berchtesgaden at a conference which is being attended also by the Japanese Minister toBerlin, the Rumanian and Hungarian Premiers, Antonescu and Sztojay, Laval, Quisling from Norway. Pavelic from Yugoslavia, and Hacha from Czechoslovakia. The Nazi journal Der Bund, quoting a report from Chiasso, Switzerland, says Japan will be asked what immediate effective assistance she is able to offer Germany,
The total mobilisation of al) manpower in industi’y throughout Axis Europe will be considered, also the possibility of the withdrawal of German troops from France, Norway, Italy, Croatia, Holland and Denmark for the battlefront, and their replacement by local militia.
