WEDDING

HAMMOND —WALLACE A wedding of wide interest was recently solemnised at the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Cambridge, by the Rev. H. W. Hitchcock, when Nan, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. C. Wallace, Bruntwood. was married to Robert William Hammond, second son of Mrs and the late Mr E. E. Hammond, of Tauranga, The bride who entered the church with her father, made a charming picture in an ivory patterned satin gown, fashioned with a fully gathered bodice, and heart-shaped neckline. From the waistline, a full circular skirt fell to form a long sweeping train which was caught on either side with sprays of orange blossom. Her lace edged veil ot net which formed a second train, was embroidered in each corner with lace motifs, and she carried a sheaf of white roses and gladioli. Attending as bridesmaids were Misses E. McGougan, and E. Hammond who were frocked similarly in gowns of powder blue and delphinium blue georgette, with golden velvet flowers finishing the neckline and sleeves. They wore topknots of delphiniums, and their bouquets were of apricot shaded roses and dahlias. L.A.C. A. E. Hammond, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Mr J. McClure, Te Puke, was groomsman. The duties of ushers were carried out by Messrs Campbell Wallace and Tom Wallace. A reception was held later at the Triangle tea rooms, where Mrs J. C. Wallace received the guests wearing a navy coat over a navy and white figured marocain frock, with matching accessories, and a shoulder spray of white daisies. Assisting her was the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs E. E. Hammond, who wore a black model frock embroidered with white, black hat and a shoulder spray of gladioli. When Mr and Mrs Hammond left on their honeymoon the bride wore a powder blue crepe frock, under a grey coat, toning hat and navy accessories.
