YACHT RACING
THREE EVENTS SAILED In spite of the fact that the wind was very light the racing conducted by the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club on the harbour last Saturday afternoon was perhaps the most interesting so far this season, and the events were followed with enthusiasm by many spectators. Three races were sailed including two for Tauranga class boats and a combined Idle Along, Frostbite and Z class event. One of the Tauranga class races was for trophies provided by the members of the public watching the contests. Results. TAURANGA CLASS Special Race Thistle (Jean Mackay) 5 min. 30secs 1 Adventurer (B. Brewer) 6 min .... 1 Me Too (P. O’Brien) 8 min 2 Raja (Hadlleld) 8 min 3 Also started; E. G. Ware’s entry, I2min., Scherzo (L. Rundle), scr., Ra (J. Hewitt) 9 min.
