MILITARY MISSIONS

BRITAIN AND RUSSIA

Rugby, Dec. 16

Soviet senior officers, including General Vasiliev, recently visited the Italian front by arrangement with the British authorities. This gave rise to a question in the House of Commons to-day whether the necessary machinery and facilities for full and free exchange of on military subjects existed through the Soviet Military Mission in Britain and the British Military Mission to the Soviet Union.

The Financial Secretary to the War Office, Mr A. Henderson, replied that such steps as were possible were being taken to arrange visits by Soviet officers to British theatres of operations and vice versa, to improve the knowledge of each other’s methods. Mr Henderson added that Soviet Officers recently visited the front in Italy anji it was hoped the British mission to Moscow would be given similar facilities in due course.
