A bulletin just issued states that Mr Churchill has had a good night and there is some improvement in his general condition. The deputy-Prime Minister, Mr Attlee, gave the House of Commons the first news of Mr Churchill’s illness this morning. He stated that the Prime Minister has been in bed for some days with a cold. A touch of pneumonia has now developed in the left lung. His general condition is as satisfactory as can be expected. Mr Attlee recalled Mr Eden’s statement on Tuesday that he had left Mr Churchill in good health though, perhaps, a little tired after his three strenuous weeks in Cairo and Teheran.

It was announced to-day that Mr Churchill met the Greek Prime Minister in Cairo last Friday. They talked about'the part Greece would play in the war in the light of the recent conferences.
