STATE OF SIEGE

NORWAY SUFFERS UNDER NAZIS

London. August 17

A state of siege has been proclaimed throughout Norway, “because of the danger of Russian or British-American attacks.” says Oslo radio. All police and a number of volunteer battalions have been armed and placed under military command.

Norwegian circles in London regard events now happening in Norway as of far-reaching importance. The measures announced by the Germans in respect of terrorism of the police and the sending of Norwegian officers to German camps, is in keeping with the state of siege.
