NAZI GENERALS
RESTORATION URGED HITLER BLAMED FOR FAILURES London, Nov. IS. The Moscow radio quotes a report from Stockholm that a group of German generals, headed by FieldMarshal von List, is insisting on the reorganisation of the High Command, including the transfer of authority to the generals. They also demand the restoration of outstanding military experts like FieldMarshal von Brauchitsch, FieldMarshal von Leeb and others, whom Hitler has removed.
Opposition in military circles has grown recently as a result of developments. A statement, attributed to the former Chief of General Staff, General Haider, on the eve of his dismissal is being widely repeated. "Hitler's refusal to listen to the advice of experienced generals led to the failure of the 1942 campaign and to colossal losses," it stated.
