New Ration Books A start was made yesterday with the issuing of new ration books in the premises occupied by the Social Security Department. Holders of current books can make application by writing their names on the counterfoil of the “O” sheet of coupons. Books are obtainable between the hours of 9.30 a;m. to 5-30 p.m., and distinctive children’s books are being issued to children under 10 years of age. <■ These books do not contain tea coupons as it has been decided by the rationing authorities to discontinue the issue of tea in this age group. An extra issue of 2 6 clothing coupons for children aged from five to 16 is being made and these may be used only in conjunction with the child’s ration book. It is designed to cover the extra needs of growing children, outfits for school and working clothes on leaving school.
