WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT THE MOUNT The monthly meeting of the Mount Maunganui Women’s Institute Avas held in the Parish Hall on June IS, Mrs F. E. McCardle presiding over a small attendance of members. The meeting opened Avith the institute song “Comrades and Friends,” after which the usual business Avas discussed. An interesting instructive talk on institute duties was given by Mrs B. Faulkner, of Tauranga. Mrs Ford Avas elected secretary OAving to Mrs Humphreys being unable to carry on. Mrs L. Williams gave an interesting demonstration of needleAvork. Afternoon tea Avas served by Mrs Best and Mrs Taylor, and the afternoon closed Avith the singing of the National Anthem.
