The following is a summary of the latest war news: LIBYAN CAMPAIGN A correspondent claims that it is still incorrect to say that Tohhrnk is besieged. It is asserted that communications are still being maintained along the coast road by our mobile forces. RUSSIAN FRONT Lord Gort, Governor of Malta, has sent a message from the people of Malta to the defenders of Sebastopol. It reads: “We the garrison and citizens of the fortress of Malta watch with undoubted admiration the defence of Sebastopol against the Nazi hordes.” The Germans claim that they are still closing in on the fortress, hut there is no confirmation of this. The Russians still confidently assert that any gains which the Nazis have made are negligible. It is considered that a decision cannot, however, be long delayed. On the Smolensk front Berlin reports new and violent Russian attacks. These were preceded with heavy artillery lire supported by tanks and bombers. The atI lacks were, say the Germans, reI pulsed. R.A.F. OFFENSIVE Yesterday a coastal vessel was .attacked in the Channel oil' Le Havre and set on tire.
