UNDERTAKING BY WOMEN'S AUXILIARY

Following on the offer of three suitable plots of land, the local Women’s War Service Auxiliary Committee has organised a scheme for growing vegetables to help to minimise the difficulties likely to be experienced later in the year by camp?, hospitals and even private homes. Miss M. Watson Stewart and Miss Lawrence have been good enough to undertake the launching of the plan, and a beginning was made yesterday, when -a meeting to discuss the initial difficulties was held. Representatives from the Auxiliary were Mrs Crawford, Mrs A. Mayfield, Misses Joan Smith and B. Sneddon. Mr C. Cameron attended in an advisory capacity, Misses Stewart and Lawrence and Mrs Christian also being present.
