METHODIST GUILD

SOCIAL AFTERNOON The Guild ladies of the Methodist Church held a most successful social afternoon on June 9. Mrs Bensely (president) opened proceedings with a very helpful devotional service, which was much enjoyed by all present. Items were rendered by the members, and included a duet by Mrs Decke and Miss Bulmer, solos by Mesdames Clarkson and Clark, and a quartette, Mesdames Styles, Forsyth, Clark, and Miss Jurd. All items received an encore. Mrs Christian and Miss Turner played the accompaniments. The competition was in the hands of Mrs Cannell, Mrs Gaulton being the winner. Mrs Exley and Mrs Clarkson took charge of a well-laden stall and did good business, the funds greatly benefiting. Miss Turner was in charge of the programme. Afternoon' tea was served.
