Fraser), General p uu J the Controller of Munitions and lb Director of Production, were present the Prime Minister stated that he had come to Hamilton because t was convinced that the Awake %« Zealand Campaign was indicative ol a genuine desire on the part of i large number of responsible cituem for a tightening up of the conduct of the war generally, and he was thoroughly in sympathy with the movement. He had brought his advisers with him because he felt thai it was necessary that the delegate should receive from them certain details concerning the war effort. The Prime Minister thanked the members for their enthusiasm and for the spirit animating the movement. He agreed with the delegation that the red tape would have to go. Every citizen should be carrying a card that would certify that the bearer was doing some war work, The Tauranga Committee is in complete agreement with the Prime Minister and has only one thing in view, that of assisting to provide urgent necessary equipment to the local Home Guard.
