CAPTURED FROM GERMANS

RUSSIAN ANTI-TANK GUNS NOW BEING USED BY ALLIES IN DESERT MUCH AMMUNITION ALSO TAKEN London, April 2S. Lieutenant General N. M. Ritchie, officer commanding the British Forces in Libya, told war correspondents that his troops were making good use of Russian 80 millimetre anti-tank guns.

General Ritchie said that these guns were a very effective weapon. They had been taken from the Russians on the eastern front and sent over to Libya for use by the German forces there. Our men had succeeded in capturing a good number of them in the Western Desert together with plentiful supplies of ammunition. They were now using the guns with good effect against German tanks.
