Rats Like Fruit Stones. In seaside residence people usually burn all household scraps so as not to encourage rats, but perhaps the uestrotying of fruit stones does not enter their minds. During the demolition of a cottage at Doctors' Point (Otago) recently numbers of rats' nests were found in the walls, and in almost every instance a heap of fruit stones was found.
