HOLY TRINITY CHURCH

CHILDREN’S CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING Last Tuesday evening the children of Holy Trinity Church had their annual gathering. The scholars of the kindergarten and the Tauranga South School met at five o’clock for tea and with a well spread table and the children wearing a variety of paper hats the scene was a festive one. There was no question about the enjoyment. At seven o’clock the hall was packed with parents and children. There was a lengthy programme of songs, recitations, pianoforte solos, etc. Finally three plays were presented by the children. Before the prize-giving the vicar, the Rev. O. S. O. Gibson, spoke highly of the work done during the year by Miss D. Taylor and the teachers in both schools, and also of the great help given by Mrs Smeddles and the members of the children’s vestry. Miss M. Hawkins, on behalf of the kindergarten Sunday School, presented Miss Taylor with a beautiful bouquet. Mrs Gibson then presented the prizes and the evening closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
