WOMEN’S DIVISION

OMOKOROA BRANCH f The monthly meeting of the Omokoroa Branch of the Women’s Division was held in Nicholas’ Hall last Wednesday, and was well attended. Mrs Strugnel was in the chair. After the discussion on the last Provincial meeting, some of the minutes for conference were read and dealt with. Miss Strugnel gave an interesting talk on her experiences in running a Home Cookery shop in Auckland, and-advised members not to take this sort of work up unless they wanted a lot of hard toil, their work hours being even longer than the farmers’. The speaker was given a hearty vote of thanks. There were many entries in the competition for date scones, Mrs H. Nicholas being.the winner. A bright and cheerful afternoon concluded with tea in which the men joined.
