WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
OMANAWA The annual meeting of the Omanawa Women's Institute was recently 'held at Mrs L. P. Jensen's residence, a full gathering of members being present. After the minutes of a previous meeting had been read and discussed, the treasurer read the financial statements of the Institute and the patriotic fund. Mrs McNaughton, voluntary organiser, was guest of honour for the afternoon, and addressed the meeting in regard to the officers' school to be held in the Presbyterian Hall in Tauranga shortly, also giving information regarding the country library service. Her listeners found the talk very interesting and helpful. A presentation was made to Mrs W. Jensen, who had gained the most points in cooking for the year, and Peter Jensen, Institute baby for the past year, was also presented with a gift. The new officers for the coming 'year are as follows: —Mrs W. H. Jensen, President; Miss Olsen, Secretary; Mrs Anderson, Treasurer; Mrs A. P. Jensen was re-elected ViceFresident and elected press correspondent.
