REGENT Uniyersal's new frontier action epic, "When the Daltons Rode," with Randolph Scott and Kay Francis in the leading roles, is playing at the Regent Theatre finally to-night. The Dalton boys, most famous of all the midwesteim ,outlaws, are recreated on the screen by Brian Donlevy, Broderick Crawford, Stuart Erwin and Frank Albertson, while other important roles are filled by George Bancroft, Andy Devine, Mary Gordon, Harvey Stephens and Quen Ramsey. Miss Francis plays her first "outdoor" role of her career, ap-_ pearing as. the winsome telegraph operator in Coffeyville, a character based on the real-life sweetheart of one of the Daltons.
TOWN HALL The story of how a crooked boxing, racket is smashed is told in Paramount's "Golden Gloves," coming to the Town Hall Theatre tonight. J. Carrol Naish appears in the role of a boxing promoter who exploits the talents of young, up-and-coming fighters to his own advantage and to the youngsters' detriment. An enterprising young newspaper reporter, played by Robert Paige, realises the extent of the harm being done, and awaits an opportunity to expose. and smash the •racket. The feminine lead in "Golden Gloves' 'is taken by Jean Cagney, sister of the famous Jimmy, and making her screen debut. Few casts can be said to'be more perfectly balanced than the group of players gathered for James Cagney's latest starring vehicle, "Great Guy," which comes to the Town Hall Theatre to-night. Playing opposite the popular, red-headed star, whose versatility is well demonstrated in this picture, is the blonde-haired Mae Clarke.
