Second Strongest Man. A quarry foreman who told Mr Justice Tucker at Leeds Assizes: "When I was a young man I was supposed to be the second strongest man in England, and now I am a crippled wreck," was awarded £3260 for personal injuries in a bus crash. He was Thomas Bradley aged 61, of Lofthouse Gate, near Wakefield, and his spine was fractured. Counsel said, "Before Bradley was injured he could lift a 12ft long tram rail on to the top of a sft wall," The West Yorkshire Road Car Company and the Pullman Omnibus Company admitted liability.
