PLANNING FOR 1942
Designs for, 1942 model motor cars already are far enough advanced to indicate that the industry in the United States and Canada will offer improvements a year hence comparable to the engineering gains embodied in the 1941 cars now going into production. Manufacturers are well along with plans for 1942, and are about sixty days ahead of their usual position. To offset possible shortage of die-meh due to the United States and Canadian national defence plans, the motor companies are widening their training 'programmes and providing their m'ost highly skilled men with longer continuous periods of employment.
