GREATER FACILITIES NEEDED
MOTOR CAMPERS IN TAURANGA OVERCROWDING DURING HOLIDAYS Reference to the need for another motor camp in Tauranga by the Borough Inspector (Mr H. L. Potter) in his report to the Tauranga Borough Council at its : meeting last evening. “It has to be acknowledged that overcrowding in respect to the wash- j ing and cooking facilities occurred at the camping grounds on a number of days,” he said. “This would have been avoided had another motor camp been established in the borough before the season commenced. “Sanitary provisions have been made at Sixth Avenue for a limited number of sites and this number would not ordinarily have been permitted to be exceeded but with no other camping ground available for visitors to go to, the fact that the requirements of the Camping Ground Regulations were surpassed, was for this season allowed. “In other respects conditions were satisfactory and the ground is well conducted by the proprietor.” 1
