WEDDING

LEIGH—-TASMAN-SMJTH The triplet daughters of Mrs Tasman Smith and the late Mr Tasman Smith of Maungawhare Park, Otumbetai, were conspicuous at the wedding at St. Peter’s Church last Friday afternoon, when Joan Elsie, was married to Dennis Huckvale, second son of Mr and Mrs Leigh of Keswick, England. The Very Rev. T. H. Roseveare performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr Stewart Wickstded, chose a sma'rt fitting frock of champagne crepe suede with teal blue hat and shoes, and carried pink orchids mounted on teal' blue ribbon. The bride’s sister, Loma, was bridesmaid, wearing an attractive soft green Swiss embroidered frock with a leghorn picture hat. Her small bouquet •was of freezias, petticoat narcissi and baronia.

Mr Bruce Tasman Smith supported the bridegroom as best man. Mrs Tasman Smith, wearing a black suit and fox fur with a spray of pink hyacinths, later entertained a few intimate friends at /Maungawhare Park. She was assisted by her daughter, Mrs Kristian Revflem. Dance in the Evening In the evening Mr and Mrs Revfiem entertained a number of young people at a dance at Maungawhare Park in aid. of Patriotic Funds. Everyone was* in jolly mood, and the sum of £ 4 was collected.
