BAY OF PLENTY SCOTTISH SOCIETY
i ,- v All those who attended the monthly Ingleside of the Scottish Society were rewarded by a very jolly evening in an atmosphere of true Scottish sociability. Chief G. D. McLaren welcomed those present, and referred to the keen support given to the Society.
The Chief was piped in by Piper E. Johnson, who with Pipe Major Davidson also piped for the Grand March and Piper E. Johnson also played selections for the exhibition and other dancing. An enjoyable selection on the bagpipes was given by Mr N. Brunning and Master Bruce McKinnon, who are making good progress under the tutorship of Mr R. J. Clarkson. The audience was also appreciative of the exhibition of national and tap dancing given by Miss Lorna Bellve.
During the evening - a very lively community sing was led by Mr R ; Stewart, ably assisted at the piano by Mr J. . Burns, in which Scottish, Digger and modern songs were impartially intermingled. The duties of master of ceremonies Avere ably carried out by Chieftain J. C. Aitken, while Mr J. Burns rendered his usual good serA’ice in playing for the dances. A generous supper was provided by the Ladies’ Committee, Mrs G. D. McLaren, Mrs J. Milson, Mrs R. J. Clarkson, and Miss D. Guppy, Avho AA r ere assisted by Mrs Innes.
