“TAURANGA” BOATS
CONSIDERED AS “PUNTS” -Boys who sail the Tauranga Class (seven footer)’ boats'will receive with mixed feelings the news that their craft is considered by a Christchurch boy as a “punt.” Such was his description of it when he wrote to the Tauranga Yacht and .Power Boat Club for the plans of the boat. Since the inaugural Dominion championship for this class in January, the Tauranga Yacht Club has received a good number of requests for plans of this handy little boat from boys in all parts of the Dominion. It was decided after the initial contest, however, to revise the plans, and the designer of. the craft, Mr H. Highet, formerly of Tauranga and now of Wellington, is at present carrying this outThe revised plans are expected shortly however, when the many demands of aspiring yachtsmen will be satisfied.
So many applications for the plans Seems to indicate that this ideal youngster’s boat is to soon find Do-minion-wide favour.
