LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

The Tanriko Branch of the League of Mothers held their monthly meeting last Wednesday,

Owing- to illness the attendance was not quite as good as usual.

Mrs. E. Doidge gave the thought for the month:

“It’s easy enough to be happy,

When life flows like a song; But the man worth while, Is the man with a smile,

When everything goes dead wrong.” Mrs. Julian’s talk on her walking tour from the far North to the extreme South of New Zealand, advertising N.Z. made goods, was most entertaining. Everything- worn ami used during the tour was New Zealand made, even to the paper, and leather covered record book. Photographs enhanced this talk. The speaker was well applauded at the conclusion.

Mrs. King gave a short report on the Tauriko representative’s visit to the Rotorua opening meeting, ami the President read a letter from the Church of England ■ requesting the help of the League towards entertaining troops in Auckland. Mrs. Keiller proposed a subscription from each member which Mrs. Doidge seconded. This fund was willingly subscribed to.

It was also decided that the League members would prepare a parcel. A dainty afternoon tea, served by the 'hostesses, Mesdames Jones, Kciller, and King, brought a happy afternoon to a close.
