Fight Lieutenant Jury, Co-pilot Wingfield, and Mr M. McClymont, who have- been guests at Hotel the Mount, left, by ’plone this morning for Auckland. Mr. J. H. Boyes, Chairman of the Social Security Commission, who has been paying an official visit to Tauranga, has left for Whakatane. Mrs. Rosenberg and her daughter Sadie of Ohaupo, are spending a holiday in Tauanga. Mr Ron Faulkner has been appointed sole teacher at the Tirohanga School, near Opotiki, and leaves at the week-end to take up his new duties. Mr and Mrs W. C. Whitlock-, of Arundel Street, have left for their holiday. They will visit Hawke’s Bay, where Mr Whitlock will stay with his son, Mr W. A. Whitlock. Mrs Whitlock will also visit Christchurch, and stay with Miss Gwen McLeod, whom some will remember as the pianist at a Recital a few years ago. Staff Sergeant Major H. Lowe, who accompanied a large contingent of members of the Maori Battalion to camp, has returned from Palmerston North. Miss M. Graham, of Whakatane, is spending a few days in Tauranga. The death occurred at Taupo on Saturday, of Mrs M. E. Bak, a former resident of Tauranga for many years. The sympathy of many friends will be extended to Mr Bak and family in their bereavement. Visitors at the Star Hotel include Messrs Martin, McKechnie, Carr, Knock and Master McKechnie. Mr Arthur Dorree, of the staff of Produce Distributors, Ltd., Hastings, has been appointed a district assembly officer with the New Zealand Fruit-growers’ Federation in connection with the fruit-marketing scheme. Guests at the. Tauranga Hotel include Mr and Mrs King, Mrs Coulter, Messrs McLean, Rountree, Christian, Cavan, Boulter, Dew, Burdett and Henry. Visitors at the Masonic Hotel are Mr and Mrs R. W. Lister, Mr and. Mrs Stott, 1 Mr and Mrs Beswick, Mr and Mrs Cruden, Miss Cruden, Master Cruden, and Mr Taylor.
