B GRADE COMPETITION WAIHOU DEFEAT TAURANGA EIGHT MATCHES TO FOUR In a good xnatcli in Hamilton at the week-end, Waihou, the finalists in the West zone, defeated Tauranga, the finalists in the East Zone by eight matches to four in the Waikato .Badminton Association’s B. Grade competition. Tauranga were unfortunate to lose the services of their top lady player, Miss Dixon, at the last moment. Details of the play are as follows, Tau\anga names being mentioned first: — Ladies’ Doubles Misses Anderson and Ray lost to Misses Horn and Hubert 21-6. Misses Alley and Bartlett beat Misses M. and N. Lewis 12-17. Misses Anderson and Ray beat Misses M. and R. Lewis 21-18. Misses Alley and Bartlett defeated Misses Horn and Hubert 21-14. Men’s Doubles Gamraan and Johnston lost to Clements and Horn 21-11. Anderson and Tanner beat Jenkins and Horn 21-18. Gamman and Johnston lost to Jenkins and Horn 21-17. Anderson and Tanner lost to Clements and Horn 21-17. Mixed Doubles Gamman and Miss Ray lost to Clements and Miss Horn, 21-9. Anderson and Miss Anderson lost to Jenkins and Miss Lewis 21-12. Johnston and Miss Bartlett lost to Horn and Miss Hubert, 21-8. Uanner and Mi,ss Alley lost to Horn and Miss Lewis 21-7; Closing of Season The season will officially close on Thursday next. The Club competitions have been completed, and the following were the final results:- — Ladies’ Championship Singles.— Miss P. Dixon defeated Miss R. Alley 11-1, 11-1. Men’s Championship Singles.—S. Anderson defeated L. Gamman 15-8, 10-15, 15-9. . Men’s Handicap Doubles. —Anderson and Johnston defeated Bateman and Renshaw 15-6. / Ladies Handicap Doubles.—Misses Bartlett and Stewart. Mixed Handicap Doubles. —Anderson and Miss Dixon defeated Poster and Miss Bartlett 15-10.
