AMUSEMENTS
TOWN HALL Aimed to surpass all former bloodchilling shockers, Universal’s “Son of Frankenstein,” commences tonight at the Town Hall Theatre. A talented cast is headed by Basil Rathbone, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lionel A twill, Josephine Hutchinson, Emma Dunn, Donnie Dunagan, Edgar Norton and others. Rathbone is starred as Baron Wolf von Frankenstein, young scientist who elects to follow the life-creating experiments of his infamous father. Wolf brings the destructive monster back to life, only to have it cut a path of killings. Karloff, as the half-hu-man Frankenstein creation, and Lugosi, as the broken-necked peasant, top their grim characterizations of the former “Frankenstein” and “Dracula” thrillers. REGENT Offering such star performers as Janet Gaynor, Robert Montgomery and Franchot Tone, “Three Loves Has Nancy,” opened ’on Monday at the Regent Theatre as' one of the most refreshing and original romantic comedies seen here in some time. The story is tfxat of a flippant novelist who gets into difficulties with a Broadway actress. He persuades his publisher to send him on a lecture tour of the South. Here he meets Nancy, a small town girl. Casually inviting her to seek .his help should she ever get into trouble in New York, he forgets all about her, only to find her waiting at the penthouse apartment he shares with his friend, the publisher upon his return. The ensuing complications provide some of the fastest and merriest comedy seen this season.
