DAIRY FARMING
The fact that only seventy-five' sharemilkers in the Morrinsville district were financial members of the Morrinsville branch of the Sharemilkers’ Union was commented on at a meeting of about 50 sharemilkers at Morrinsville. A resolution was passed urging that legislation be brought down to compel all sharemilkers, whether on third shares or half shares, to become members of the Sharemilkers’ Union. At the present time only sharemilkers on third shares, that is, those who do not own the cows they milk, are eligible for membership. The majority of those present were sharemilkers on half shares. A resolution was also passed to be sent to the Prime Minister, expressing approval of the principle of the guaranteed price, and asking that it be continued.
